During this appointment we will ask for:
student's UNEXPIRED NC ID
16-17 yr olds withdrawal from last attended school
parent or guardian UNEXPIRED NC ID to have DTCC waiver form signed & notarized

Before we placement assess students, we like to see if they are motivated to withstand the preparation process. Students will be asked to complete their first 6 hours of online learning for English and Math. They will then proceed to the next step in our process.

After completing digital resource hours, you will sign up for the TABE placement assessments. Reading and Math assessments help us place students into the proper curriculum. Students may stay with us for high school equivalency or begin with adult basic literacy.

Students will create a plan with staff. It will be personalized to their current level and mapped out to completion. It may change over time depending upon how a student progresses.

Students will receive their schedule and begin attending in-person classes at the DLC. Classes are more like learning labs. It is self-paced learning with Lab Coaches supporting. Meaning, the coaches are there to assist students when they get stuck on concepts or need supplemental assistance. Coaches SUPPORT the learning and preparation for the tests.
