This year's artwork was selected by Adria Gunter (sher/her/hers). Recently at the Nasher, Adria organized and led the development of Reading Black Art, an online, non-exhaustive bibliography featuring scholarly resources on Black artists, art history, and visual culture. She is also co-curating two exhibitions at the Nasher, including In Relation to Power: Politically Engaged Work from the Collection, which opens this fall, and Reckoning and Resilience: North Carolina Art Now, which opens early 2022. Adria holds a BA in Art History and Arts Administration from Elon University. Adria is from Atlanta, Georgia, and she is currently based in New York.
