About Me

Hello, my name is Chance Schoser and I am excited to be starting my third year as a 5th grade teacher here at Needham, my fifth year overall teaching. I was born and raised in Durango, but spent a few years in the Denver area where I taught 6th grade science and social studies at Mammoth Heights Elementary in Parker, CO.

During my time on the front range, I was the varsity pitching coach at Ponderosa High School for 2 years. After moving back to Durango in 2016, I joined the DHS baseball program as their varsity pitching coach, and I am heading in to my third year with the Demons. I was also the head boy's and girl's basketball coach at Miller MS for a total of 6 years. I am lucky to be able to continue my passions in my hometown.

I have been married for a little over four and half years to my beautiful wife Danielle who I met in Kindergarten here at Needham Elementary. We are excited to be back home with our golden retrievers Rawley and Bowlen, and our cat Aspen. We just recently welcomed a little baby girl in to our family as well, and being a father has been the best thing ever!

In addition to attending Needham Elem., I also went to Miller Middle School and Durango High. While in high school here in Durango I played baseball and basketball for the Demons before attending Fort Lewis College. While at FLC I graduated in 2010 with a BA in Business Administration before returning to school to get my teaching license a few years later, the cubicle life was NOT for me! I have always had a passion for teaching and coaching so the decision to return to school was easy to make, and I am thankful I did.

Sports are a major part of my life! As many know I am a HUGE Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan, as well I cheer for the Phoenix Suns, and the University of Arizona Baseball and Basketball teams. Outside of sports, I love being outdoors. Camping, fishing, hiking, riding ATVs are just a few of the things you can find me doing in my free time.

Much of my family still lives in Durango including my mom and dad, my identical twin brother, and my two nephews. I am looking forward to a great year where we can have fun, inquire about new things, challenge ourselves, all while having fun and growing.
