My name is Rebecca Brown and I am entering my sixth year of teaching 7th grade science and social studies in the Duplin County School system. I graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I later returned to UNCW for graduate school and received a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2015. In 2017-2108 school year I was chosen as a North Carolina Kenan Fellow and got to spend the summer working along side industry professionals with the NC Electric Cooperatives. I used that experience the following school year to teach my students everything I had learned about the generation and distribution of energy to rural communities.
