Dunstan High School Sports Council Roles
To promote sport
To support and encourage personal involvement in sport
To assist with the establishment of policies
To assist with the development of processes and guidelines
To help arbitrate and regulate
To encourage students to balance time away from school attending sporting fixtures
To provide a ‘sounding board’ for any issues that may arise
To depersonalise decision making responsibilities so that our sports coordinator does not shoulder all decisions
Principal: Mr Bryce Clapham/Mr Andrew King principal@dunstan.school.nz has overall authority for all areas and reports to the Board of Trustees.
Head of Sport: Mr Todd Adams tadams@dunstan.school.nz. Chairman for Sports Council. Overseas all areas of sport at DHS.
Director of Sport: Mrs Sally Mullally sports@dunstan.school.nz. The Director of Sport is responsible to the Head of Sport and Principal for all sport conducted at DHS.
Sports Administration: Miss Stevie Paine sportsadmin@dunstan.school.nz. Overall organisation of Central Otago Secondary School competitions and events, lunchtime activities, and sports leaders/committee
Teacher in Charge: Overall organisation of their sport and reports to the Director of Sport
Club/General Committee: Provide assistance to the Teacher in Charge, especially in regard to fundraising and resourcing.
Coach/Manager: Responsibilities outlined in the team roles. Report to The Teacher in Charge of their sport.
Player: Responsibilities outlined in the team roles. Report to coaches and managers of their team.
