MobyMax is an online, Common-Core aligned platform aimed at helping students remedy learning deficits in the core subjects, including Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies.
For the 2018-19 school year, Dunlap is offering "MobySuite" to all teachers and students which includes all facets of MobyMax.
Based on teacher/student usage and feedback, a decision will be made about continuing to subscribe to all the features.
Below you will find information on Moby Learning, Assessments, and Interactive.
After taking diagnostic tests (that take roughly 30 minutes for students to complete), Moby Learning has over 10,000 online learning videos that are adapted to individual student needs. Students practice the information through "Cognitive Skill Manipulatives" that not only reinforce targeted skills, but help to develop their ability to think critically and problem-solve.
While the adaptive feature is automatic, teachers also have the ability to select which units of focus students must complete. The gaming feature that students can earn through completing lessons can also be disabled by teachers as well, if you are wanting to remove the incentive feature.
For more information about Moby Learning, see the recorded webinar linked below (it is approximately 40 minutes in length).
Moby Assessments identify the specific skill deficits on which students need to work. Reporting features let teachers look at whole-class or student-specific reports that breakdown target skills, days on which students passed a concept, and skills on which students still need focus.
Teachers are also able to customize tests and choose standards-aligned skills and questions from a premade assessment bank. For more information on Moby Assessments, see the linked webinar below that is about 20 minutes in length.
Moby Interactive is a whole-class facet of MobyMax, as the other two components are individualized. Here, teachers can use pre-existing skills review questions or create their own to engage students in a review session.
Additionally, teachers can access pre-made whiteboard (SmartBoard) activities to complete with a class, or print paper-and-pencil skills review worksheets for students to complete.
