When it Set in…
It wasn't a certain moment that I can pinpoint
It wasn't something that clicked one day
It was the moments of your hand in mine
When all my worries and fears were defeated
It was the blue ocean that was your eyes
That calmed me like the beach at sunset
It was the genuine transparency that you shared,
That allowed me to be completely upfront
It was the love that I felt from the innocent contact
That reassured me that I was right where I needed to be
It was the way that your voice seemed to be the solution
To every last one of my problems
It was all of these things that drew me to you
It felt like magnets that were impossible to pull apart
But where did you go?
Months have passed and it’s all starting to fade
The memories disappear in the ghost town that is my mind
I don't remember what it felt like to hold your hand
I don't remember the shade of blue I saw in your eyes
I don't remember the clarity of the connection we shared
I don't remember what it felt like when you kissed my hand
I don't remember what it sounded like when you said I was your world
When I realized this; that's when it set in,
I have to lose you more than once to really get over you
