Bird Symphony
Do You Hear What I Hear?
Birds can make great alarm clocks! Their calls and songs filled the air this morning and woke me up. Instead of going back to sleep, I decided to step outside onto my porch and record what I was hearing. Give it a listen with the volume all the way up.
Questions to Think About
- How many different types of bird calls/songs are you able to hear in the video above?
- Have you ever heard these calls/songs before in your neighborhood?

Now It's Your Turn!
We want to see what kinds of birds you find in your neighborhood! Here are a few ways to do so.
Go outside and sit in your yard, the front of your home or even under a tree nearby to spot what kinds of birds are around you! Binoculars are a helpful tool to get a closer look from afar.
Take a walk with your family to a local park, trail or green space to see what kinds of birds you can hear and see. Make sure you are practicing social distancing!
Put up a bird feeder in your yard or visit a bird feeder in your community. Birds love a free meal but make sure you are feeding them bird seed and nothing they don't normally eat in their diet like bread. Many parks posts bird feeders for visitors to enjoy.
