Dr. Murari P. Tapaswi

Dr. Murari P. Tapaswi retired as Chief Scientist (Library and Information) from the CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) at Goa (1979-2013). With his deep interests in the Scientometrics, he was actively involved in organization, dissemination and assessment of scholarly literature published by the institute's researchers. Besides, he also assisted experts in shortlisting the applications received for various fellowships, scholarships by the three Science academies of India using scientometric techniques. Use of such techniques have an advantage of objective evaluation over the interviews (subjective evaluation technique). The committee members found such a shortlisting of candidates very useful. He handled several national and international projects and was associated with UN Agencies activities. On his retirement, he also worked for the Goa University in the Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (2014-19). During this period, the UGC seriously considered of providing lists of journals to the Academic community in HEIs for publishing their research results. Dr. Tapaswi, being working for the Quality Assurance, this development was also of great interest to him. He had an opportunity to share his ideas and experiences on topics of such interests on various platforms with the academic and research community.

Dr. I.R.N. Goudar

Dr. Goudar has been serving Mangalore University as Adjunct Professor since June 2015. Earlier he has served in few institutions like CFTRI, Mysore; L&T, Bombay; Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad and IIT, Chennai in various capacities. He worked as Visiting Professor and Library Adviser at University of Mysore; he rejuvenated its library system and successfully automated all activities of the library. He, along with his colleagues has successfully changed the image of Mysore University Library, which now is one of the best of its kind in the country. On the invitation by Vice-chancellor, he is serving Bangalore University as Visiting Professor Cum Library Adviser with the responsibility of rejuvenating its library system. He has delivered more than 500 invited/keynote lectures in various Conferences, Workshops, Refresher Courses not only in Library and Information Science but of other departments of Science, Engineering & Technology, Social Sciences and Arts & Humanities at various universities.

Dr Santhosh C Hulagabali

Santosh C. H. is a gold medalist and rank holder in Master of Library and Information Science (2004) from Karnatak University, Dharwad and PhD from University of Mumbai (2017). He also holds Masters in Mass Communication and Journalism and Diploma in Management. He started his career as Documentation Assistant at RBI’s IGIDR, Mumbai (2004) and British Council Library, Mumbai (2005). As Librarian, he served N K College (Autonomous), Mumbai for 13 years. At present, he is University Librarian of Central University of Haryana. He has published two dozen papers, co-edited half-a dozen conference proceedings and completed two minor research projects. He reviews scholarly journals too. He has delivered 110+ invited talks at universities, UGC’s HRDCs, B-schools, colleges, etc. He is also a blogger and his articles are published on the ‘Impact Blog’ of London School of Economics. He is Editor of ‘Open Interview’, a crowdsourced blog for interviewing experts. His interview of Peter Suber is featured on Harvard University website. He is also the Editor of ‘Open Commentaries’, a blog created by him for publishing commentaries on academia and research. He has organized several workshops, devised and organized highly impactful courses for researchers, educators and librarians. He is also actively engaged in voluntary projects and open consultancy. He is passionate about teaching, training and blogging

Dr Gopakumar V

Dr. Gopakumar is presently the University Librarian of Digital University of Science, Technology and Innovation, Kerala.

He was the University Librarian and Head of the Department of Library and Information Science at Goa University. He was also a member of the academic council and the Chairman for the Board of Studies in Library and Information Science of Goa University.

Dr. Gopakumar V has 37 years of professional experience as a Librarian. He has worked in various colleges in Kerala for 26 years. Dr. Gopakumar V has completed his Ph.D. from Mangalore University after his BSc in Botany and MLISc (Library and Information Science) He has expertise in various library-related software and digital content development software. Dr. Gopakumar V has expertise in software related to academics and digital content creation. Has developed digital content of various types and has been taking classes in the digital content development area during Refresher Courses in UGC HRDCs of various Universities. He has 27 research articles and three books to his credit. He has translated two Kannada novels of Dr. Shivarama Karanth to Malayalam. He has organized several workshops, refresher courses, and three international conferences namely CALIBER 2011, Library Technology Conclave, and iKOAL 2018.
