As part of our state and district approved Phased School Reopening Health and Safety Plan, the DuBois Area School District is excited to provide four (4) instructional options for the 2020-2021 school year. Our plan outlines our local guidelines for instructional and non-instructional school reopening activities. In addition to following our local approved plan, our District also receives and refers to the updated guidance and recommendations from the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). In August, the state launched the PA Department of Health's COVID-19 Early Warning Monitoring System Dashboard, which shows data points being used to assess the spread of COVID-19 in each county. Using the data from this dashboard and the measurements from the White House Coronavirus Task Force to identify low, moderate, or substantial community transmission, PDE has established recommendations for three instructional models: Full-In Person, Blended, and Full Remote. The Pennsylvania Department of Education's definitions for each model are:
Full-In Person = School is open each day with in-person instruction for all students
Blended Learning Model = Any model in with the number of students in a school building is reduced to allow for social distancing
Full Remote Learning = Any model in which all students engage in all learning remotely
