Our Graduate Portfolio

Valley High School prepares students for any opportunity they want to pursue after graduation. Some will immediately enroll in community college; some may enter or continue in the working world;  and others may serve our country in the military.  

We have designed a graduate portfolio that teaches the skills and provides the experiences to prepare students for life beyond high school. That learning happens primarily in the classrooms but also happens during extracurricular events.  

The five major areas of competency are 

1. College and Career Readiness

2. Communication

3. Community

4. Financial Literacy

5. Mental and Physical Strength

While the five major areas of competencies are the same for each student, the content of each student's portfolio is unique. The portfolio is a file cabinet of  workplace documents, photographs, academic work, and strategies the student has  developed here at VHS that will help them reach their goals.    actionable plans

The graduate portfolio reflects the SOAR culture of the Dragons of Valley High School: students are Strong, Open minded, Accountable, and Resilient.
