CK-12 - has online textbooks in a more traditional textbook format than our Amplify curriculum. Great for reviewing science concepts and facts - you can browse or search for topics. We do not have paper textbooks but this can be a good alternative for students and parents who want a science textbook for supplementary study beyond our curriculum.
The Engineering Design Process video - this is a good overview of the steps for designing a solution to a problem.
Students can find more specific resources for help with things like the XY coordinate plane, independent vs dependent variables, and study skills in our Canvas.

I've received some questions from parents about how to help their kids with CER assignments. Here's a video about what a CER is, our reasons for using it in science classes and standardized tests, and what each of the three sections is for. The target audience for this video is teachers but it's a good explanation of CERs.
Checklist for writing a good CER.
In Canvas, every CER assignment will have a rubric attached for that specific CER. We will go over in class how students can use this checklist and the rubrics to self-evaluate as they are working and achieve the maximum levels of mastery.
