I am creating a Social Contract with my students that we will create together at the beginning of the year and refer back to daily.


We will start by  reviewing common classrooms rules and expectations that we notice in read-alouds and then ultimately create  buzz words on how we want to our classroom to look and feel.


This Social Contract will become a living, breathing document that we recite daily and refer back to regularly as different behaviors arise.


Depending on how a student is following our Social Contract, there will either be positive reinforcement with rewards and incentives, or natural fitting consequences. Positive behavior recognition and reinforcement is always my priority.


We will be using Class Dojo to monitor and communicate your child’s behavior. You will receive Class Dojo updates after we go over rules, procedures, and expectations and your child knows what is expected of them. Your child will receive points based on things they did well that day, as well as lose points for things they did that might have disrupted our day.  You have the ability to see this and we can message each other about these behaviors via the app.


Please help me by reinforcing positive expectations and have discussions about their classroom behavior.
