School starts promptly at 8:15 am. If students arrive after the gates are closed and locked, they will need to go to the office and your student will receive a tardy.
If your child is absent, call the attendance line and report it OR
**NEW**This year we're excited to roll out a new tool in Parent Portal that will allow you to report student absences, tardies, and early releases.
STEPS:
1. Log into your parent portal account. It must be your parent login and not your student's login.
2. Once you are in the parent portal, you can click "More" on the bottom left.
3. Then click on Absence Requests.
4. Choose the student/s for whom the absence request is for.
5. Indicate the reason.
6. Indicate if the student will be gone all day, will arrive late, or go home early and what time.
7. Once all comment boxes are completed with necessary information, Click SUBMIT
Here is a document with images that explains this process.
OR Call the attendance line 925-307-1950, Select option 2
OR Email Mrs.True at truejennifer@dublinusd.org
Please spell your student's name if leaving a voicemail or an email.
If your student is absent due to illness, please be specific with the symptom(s).
Students with vomiting, diarrhea or fever must stay home 24 hours after their symptoms end without the use of fever-reducing medicine.
Excused absences may include illness, medical appointments, bereavement, religious holidays, visa appointments (but not passports) and independent study contracts.
Please be specific because CA Ed Code has strict definitions.
Absences in which a parent/guardian does not report the reason within the 72 hour period will be left as unverified and therefore unexcused.
Additional Health information can be found at DUSD - Health Services and DUSD - COVID 19.For the 23-24 school year, it is strongly recommended that if your child has COVID symptoms, please administer a COVID test before returning in person. If your child does test positive for COVID-19, please report it as the reason for absence and we will communicate the protocols.
For attendance questions, please contact our school's attendance Secretary III, Jennifer True at 925-307-1950 ext. 6706.
For health related questions, please contact our school’s health clerk, Anna Heusler at 925-307-1950 ext. 6715.
Are you picking your child up early before 12:10 PM? Check-in at the office first, then a staff member will pick up your child from our classroom and bring them to the office.
If your child is out after showing COVID symptoms or if a family member is sick and they are in isolation, they will be given work to do from DUSD.
INDEPENDENT STUDY: If you have a long trip scheduled, you will need to apply for an INDEPENDENT STUDY through the AES office. This should be reported two weeks in advance. Contracts are issued for a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 14 days. Please note that your Independent Study may be denied.
