Fun Christmas Traditions!

The traditions my family and I take part in during the holidays are such a fun way to end the first half of my senior year, I can’t wait to share all of them!
My mom and I always decorate the house together, we used to do it all the time with my sister but we have lived in a different state than her for a couple years now. My mom frames our Christmas card every year so we always put those pictures out all over the house. We go out and cut down a Christmas tree, and then my mom, dad and I put the lights and ornaments on it. We put up a garland on the mantle and put up our Nativity scene. My mom also has an absurd amount of Christmas candles so we put those wherever they are needed.
Another thing we like to do is bake! We make oreo truffles which are frozen oreo balls dipped in chocolate and we also make Smitten Kitchen’s homemade marshmallows. We usually wait until all of my siblings are in town to make them so that we are sure they get some.

Of course, my favorite tradition is when my mom is too busy to wrap presents so I end up wrapping many of my siblings' gifts. This happens every year so I am just waiting for the text, “Hey, how busy are you December 23rd?” from my mom. That’s okay though, I like wrapping gifts. I may know what everyone got but I normally forget. My siblings come to my house for the holidays and I love when they’re here because they are my best friends, even if they’re 5, 6 and 9 years older than me.
Christmas traditions are something I look forward to every year and I am so glad I get to share them. Happy holidays!
