Dear Parents, 

Welcome to the Thomas Elementary EL website. Our EL Team is pleased to be teaching EL (English Learning) at Thomas this year and to have the opportunity to work with your children. We know we can rely on your support and cooperation in assisting our EL (English Learners) students with their school curriculum. You can also contact us by sending a note with your child or sending an e-mail. Ms. Amy Galden, Ms. Deveyn Lipinski, and Mrs. Olga Istomina will be teaching EL at Thomas. We are lucky to have our bilingual aides, Mrs. Deb McMillan - Ito (Japanese), Mrs. Rana Horbol (Arabic) and Jose Trejo (Spanish) working at Thomas this year. They are already busy helping students, parents, and teachers here, as well as in other Dublin schools. We welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss our program.

We have a large number of students in the English Learning program this year. Classes are 30-40 minutes in length, and students will be grouped in classes according to their grade level and their English proficiency level. The relatively small number of students per class allows for much individualized instruction.

New students are tested shortly after their arrival. We will be sending home Permission Forms for students new to the EL program. Please fill out these forms completely and return them to school as quickly as possible.
