We believe that students need a variety of exposure to different texts. They will engage in a variety of reading experiences that include whole group learning, independent reading, and small group instruction.
Students will be introduced to a variety of strategies to enhance critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills. Students will present their knowledge through formal and informal speaking as well as writing and digital formats.
Focus on producing narrative, informational, and opinion writings.
Building and enhancing students' vocabulary, as well as their knowledge of various spelling patterns, will be a critical focus in third grade. We will explore our study of words through word & sentence observations, word connections, and by building independent spelling strategies.
Focus on phonics, vocabulary, and grammar.
