The Dublin City Schools library media center program fosters students' passion for literacy and cultivates a sense of belonging. Our library media centers serve as dynamic hubs where innovation, collaboration, and lifelong learning happen. We are committed to fostering critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and empathetic global citizens for success in an ever-evolving world.
The BOOK FAIR is almost here!
March 10-19 Students will have two opportunities to browse and shop during their library visits. Families can shop with their children on Friday, March 13th, 4:00-6:00 and Thursday, March 19th, 4:00-7:00.

Cash: If your child is bringing cash and needs help counting it, please put it in an envelope or baggie clearly labeled with their name and amount of money included or consider creating an eWallet.
Go cash-free with a Scholastic eWallet! Parents can set up an eWallet for their child on the Thomas Scholastic Book Fair Website, linked below. No more worrying about your child losing their money. Every morning, I print out a list the list of current eWallets. When your child shops the fair, we can process the sale with their eWallet at the register. If your child has money left on their eWallet at the end of the fair, you will receive an email explaining the money has rolled over to a Scholastic gift card. The gift card can be used to shop online or turned into a new eWallet at the next Scholastic Book Fair or donated to Share the Fair. Money donated after the fair goes toward helping Thomas students at our next book fair.
Share the Fair - We want every child to experience the joy of choosing and owning their very own book! When you round up your book fair purchase or donate to Share the Fair, your money goes to help Thomas students buy a their very own book. You can make donations at the Scholastic Book Fair link below or scroll down to the direct link to Share the Fair.
Online shopping - Students can also shop online at the online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home. Orders over $25 qualify for free shipping.
Sales tax - The local sales tax of 8% is added to all purchases.
Please share your expectations with your child before they shop. Are they allowed to buy writing supplies (journals, diaries, fancy pens, ...) or only books?

Book Fair Schedule
All Thomas students will have two opportunities to browse, make wish lists and shop the book fair during their regularly scheduled library visits.
Families are welcome to shop with their students on conference nights.

Share the Fair
Share the Fair is the giving program built into the Scholastic Book Fair, empowered by contributions from people like you! These funds support students at our school who need help getting new books. Your contribution helps even more kids take home a book from the Fair—and experience the all-the-feels, read-past-lights-out rush that we call “Bookjoy.” - Scholastic Book Fairs

Parent Library Portal
We're excited to announce the new Parent Library Portal, a convenient way for you to view your student's library book checkouts and their reading history. Find it through the Quick Links section on the district website, under Teaching & Learning. Please note that you will need to use the email address on file in Infinite Campus to log in. To access this new feature, please refer to the linked step-by-step guide, which provides detailed instructions on how to login and navigate the portal. We believe this addition will be a valuable resource for both parents and students, fostering a more collaborative approach to reading and library engagement.
Celebrate your birthday with us!
You choose one NEW book to add to the library and you are the first one to borrow it.
** You will choose the book from a collection of brand new, never checked out, pre-approved books, already at school. Please do not bring a book from home, as all Thomas library books are carefully selected to meet the needs of our collection and our students. All books must be vetted by a Media Specialist before being added to a DCS library.
A Birthday Book Club sticker with YOUR NAME will be placed in the book to show everyone that you donated the book.
You pick one present from Mrs. Russell’s collection of books and small toys.
A picture of you and your book will hang near your classroom.
At the end of the school year, the class with the highest percentage of Birthday Book Club members, will get an ice cream treat.

Free online access to ebooks and audio books.
The libraries offers free services including, help with schoolwork for students K-12, Reading Buddies for students K-3, and kindergarten readiness activities for ages 0-5. Times vary by location, so be sure to check on the Columbus Metropolitan Library website, linked here.
In addition to conversation tables for adults to build English language skills, the Dublin branch now offers Conversation Tables/Activities for students to build their English skills as well.
