Mrs. Mieke Toland
Assistant Director/ Tech Director
Mieke Toland is the assistant director of Karrer Middle School's drama club. When her daughter performed in the 2022-23 production of Moana, Mieke was drawn to all things props, sets and costuming. After helping back stage that year she was hooked and has worked on the staging, props and costumes with our tech crew students ever since! Growing up, Mieke loved going to see shows both on and off Broadway. Although being on stage was never the right fit, she has found a passion for helping students set the stage and bring it to life. Mrs. Toland graduated from The College of NJ with a degree in Art Education and received her Masters degree in Art Therapy from New York University. Over the years she has worked in a variety of settings and roles, but has always found a way to include creativity in her job. In her free time outside of her work as a Paraprofessional at Karrer Middle School, Mrs. Toland loves to spend time with her family and dog exploring nature and new locations as well as making art, crafts and projects of all kinds.
