To assist all incoming fifth graders with "need to know scheduling information" as well as Karrer specific details for transitioning to Middle School, we have created this Karrer 5th to 6th grade website!
Please take time as a family to review the information provided on events, how to schedule your classes and how to select a music class.
We are so excited to have you join our school this fall as a Golden Shamrock!
Welcome to Karrer-
Mrs. Menduni
T-Shirt shown is for illustrative purposes only and is not the specific one that will be ordered.
In just a few months, your child will be entering the wonderful world of middle school. We would like to welcome all our new 6th grade students to the Karrer family with a small gift from the KMS PTO.
Shirt size ordering deadline has passed. If you did not fill out the request form, additional shirts have been ordered to ensure that all sixth graders receive one as a new student to KMS in August!
The 2024-2025 school supplies are posted on our Karrer Website for you to shop for prior to your first day of school.
On August 7th, all sixth grade students AND their parents/guardians are invited to a two hour orientation. On this evening, students should bring their schedules in order to begin their evening with their FIRST PERIOD teacher. Schedules will be sent by the district the first week of August.
Students will follow a prescribed evening of getting to know what to expect for the first day of school (lockers, getting to know faces of teachers, meeting others in their classes, a tour of the building, etc) while Parents will rotate between the cafeteria and the library for two informational sessions, hosted by KMS guidance counselors and administration. These two sessions will be both interactive (we want to hear from you!) and informative (think of it as your quick guide to all things MS).
Finally, our KMS PTO will be on hand to share ways for you (parents) to get involved here at Karrer, and will also have light refreshments for all. We look forward to seeing you on this evening, and to partnering together the next three years!
*If you are unable to attend this evening, do not fret! Walk through is the next day from 11-6, and we will also have many staff on hand the first day of school to ensure all students feel safe and welcome in our school.
