Meet the staff members who work with your child every day:
Mrs. Fisher, Mrs. Mooney, Mrs. Brewer, Mrs. Winzeler, Mrs. Stillings
Mom, Teacher, Daughter, Sister, Puppy Raiser, Buckeye; these words are some nouns used to describe me. Positive, Affable, High Expectations, Hard Working; these are some adjectives that can describe me. My family is the most important thing in my world - and I call my students "my kids" as they become a part of my family as well as the paras who work with us. I will work incredibly hard to help your kids and mine in a positive and friendly way, but also with high expectations for success. I use positive behavior support techniques and am always trying to learn about the best way to reach and teach every one of my students.
The 2022-2023 school year is my 19th year of teaching. I have taught at a private school outside of New York City, in Southwestern City Schools, at Sells Middle School, Davis Middle School, and this is my 11th year at Scottish Corners. I have worked with a wide variety of student needs from specific learning disabilities, reading intervention and math skills, to behavior concerns, autism, multiple disabilities, and more. I am also a mom to kids who have IEPs, so I am familiar with the parent side of this process as well.
My children are 22, 21, 19, 7 and 7. My twins are second graders at Scottish Corners, and my big kids graduated from Scioto High School! In our spare time, my daughters and I volunteer with an organization called 4 Paws for Ability. I am a puppy raiser for service dogs in training who are eventually matched with children or veterans who have disabilities. You may see me in the community with my service dog in training because she is with me any time I am not at school! The dog on the front page is Dalia, who is now a service dog in Long Island. I have also fostered Rae, Charmy, and we currently have Dolley, who is a Golden Doodle. Dolley has been promoted to service dog breeder, and I am looking forward to helping to raise her puppies when she has them this year some time! Ask me about my kids or my puppies; I love to talk about them!
