an exhibition of student agency
"If we want students to thrive, we must give them learning that feels relevant, real, and worth doing."
— Dr. Jal Mehta
Welcome to the Agents of Change Festival!
Tonight, we invite you to witness the passion, creativity, and dedication of our students as they showcase their incredible learning journeys. This festival is more than just an exhibition—it is a celebration of student voice, agency, and the power of young change makers.
Each student group presenting tonight has explored what it means to be an Agent of Change in their own unique way. Some have tackled real-world challenges, working to create solutions that make a difference. Others have explored ways to take greater ownership of their learning, pushing boundaries and redefining what education can be. No matter the approach, each project represents the courage, curiosity, and innovation that will shape the future.

Before you go, please take a moment to complete the short reflection survey at the bottom of this page—we deeply value your thoughts.
Empowering the Next Generation of Change Makers
What you are witnessing tonight—students engaged, passionate, and taking ownership of their learning—is what education should look like. These students are not just presenting projects; they are demonstrating the transformative power of voice, choice, and agency in learning. They are leading the way by challenging traditional models of education and paving the path for a more innovative, creative, and inclusive future.
The world is changing at an unprecedented pace, and what worked in the past may no longer be enough to prepare our children for the challenges ahead. Yet, too often, schools remain tethered to outdated systems—standardized tests, scripted curriculums, and rigid structures that leave little room for creativity, critical thinking, and real-world application.
Tonight proves that there is a better way. When students are trusted to explore their passions, solve meaningful problems, and engage with the world around them, they rise to the occasion. They become more than students—they become agents of change.
If tonight has shown you the power of student-driven, meaningful learning, we encourage you to become an advocate for more of it.
Ask your child what excites them most in school.
Support teachers who create space for curiosity, exploration, and student voice.
Speak up at school board meetings and ask administrators how they are fostering deeper learning experiences.
Push for policies that prioritize authentic learning over rote memorization and standardized test scores.
The next generation of change makers is already in our schools. But they need all of us—parents, educators, and community members—to ensure they have the learning experiences they deserve.
We recognize that meaningful learning is not just about knowledge; it’s about cultivating the skills, adaptability, and mindset that students need to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. It’s about giving them the confidence to challenge the status quo and the creativity to design solutions for the future.
Let tonight be a spark. Let it inspire you to join this movement for change. Together, we can create a more purposeful, practical, and student-centered approach to learning—one that empowers the next generation to achieve their full potential and lead with purpose.
Thank you for being here. Your presence and engagement mean the world to these students. We hope you leave tonight feeling inspired, empowered, and hopeful, knowing that these remarkable young people are shaping the future as the Agents of Change our world needs.
The future of education is in our hands. Let’s rise to meet it.
