The Social Welfare and Development (SWD) Laws monitoring generally aims to monitor and assess how the national SWD policies per sector are operationalized by the LGUs to guarantee alignment and institutionalization of international and national commitments at the local levels. It serves as a tool or reference of the Department in the development of policy notes and policy studies for the reformulation of existing and proposing of new laws, a reference in customizing the Technical Assistance and Resource Augmentation (TARA) Plan, Social Protection Plan, sectoral plans, among other plans, and a critical reference in the development and operationalization of the Department’s Policy Agenda.
In addition, the SWD Laws Monitoring promotes the practice of designing and generating recommendations towards improving the formulation and development of policies and plans at different levels of implementation (P/C/MSWDO, DSWD FO, and Inter-Agency).
