AUGUST - SEPTEMBER:
Thanks for reading our CL&I NEWS! CHECK OUT all of the FUN taking place in our Center for Learning & Innovation! As we start the school year, our students will visit the library and get acquainted with the layout, expectations, and procedures when visiting the library. Students will learn how to love their books, use shelf markers, and check out new books. We will begin to explore stations, listen to stories, and learn about our first reading challenge for the year. Students should remember to bring their books back each week.
The Maker Space experience for this month will invite students to explore STEM through building stations and mystery STEM challenges. Students will review Maker Space expectations. Learning how to use the space is our goal for the first few visits! During this time, students will have the opportunity to check-out books if needed. We love Maker Space donations!
Looking for a special way to celebrate your child and the WSES library? Students select a book on their birthday, take a photo for our BIRTHDAY BOOK WALL, get a special name plate inside the book, and get to be the FIRST to read the new book that will be added to the WSES library! Check out the PTA website for more information. *The books will be donated to the WSE library.
We’re excited to introduce our newest library friend—Silly the Library Goose! You may hear about Silly’s adventures throughout the year. Silly’s mission is simple: to make our library visits even more fun, spark curiosity, and share a little extra joy with every reader who stops by. Keep your eyes open—you never know where Silly might waddle off to next!
Mark Your Calendars – Literacy Parade in October!
