In this module you will learn how to access Smarter Balanced test questions, assessments that target specific standards, and other resources.
Before we begin this module:
We'll start by looking at the Smarter Balanced website. We will learn about the different types of Smarter Balanced questions and then be able to see practice questions from each grade band. The Hawaii math site is another useful resource that we can use to see practice questions, but only as paper and pencil versions. Watch the video that follows -- the websites referenced in the video are provided below.

We can identify our major clusters and also find weak target areas. Now we want to assess our kids on specific standards to see if they are truly understanding a standard. How can we do this? Watch the video below to learn more. The websites referenced in the video are provided below.

K-12 Common Core Assessments by Grade and Standard
One of the best ways to understand what is asked on a Smarter Balanced test is to take a practice test yourself. Pay close attention to the content of the questions, the wording of the questions, and how students are expected to interact with the content. These practice tests are not scored, however. Use the link below to get started.
