Service Opportunities
National Day of Service (Saturday, September 13th)
The stake is gathering items for Safe Harbor. Please see the attached flyer for the requested items. Please bring donations to the Hansens' house (3698 W 925 N) on/before Friday, September 12th.
The ward will be working with the Wheatfield Ward to clean up a section of the D&RG Trail (between Gordon and Hill Field) on Saturday, September 13th, from 9-11 AM. Meet at the trail entrance south of Ellison Park Elementary. NO POWER TOOLS.
Mill Assignment - If you would like to serve in the Church Mill, please click on this link to sign up. The next opportunity to serve is the week of September 8th-12th, with shifts from 7:45 AM-12:15 PM and 12:15-4:30 PM. Must be 18 or older.
The Magic Yarn Project - Come make a beautiful, whimsical wig for a child who is battling cancer or some other form of medical hair loss. There are three 2-hour shifts (9-11 AM, NOON-2 PM, 3-5 PM) on Saturday, September 20th - located in Sandy. The activity is indoors and wheelchair accessible. Ages 12 and up are welcome. Temple Cleaning - If you would like to help clean the Layton temple, please click on this link to sign up. There are opportunities to help monthly. The September assignment is Monday, September 22nd from 9 AM-1 PM. More volunteers are needed for this shift. Must be an endowed member with an active temple recommend.
Expanded Senior Missionary Opportunities for Single Members - The First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles have expanded missionary opportunities for the single members of the church. Single men ages 40+ may be called as full-time senior missionaries if they do not have dependent children living at home. These individuals will be considered for service in select assignments in the area, mission offices, family history, and other roles for which they have unique life experiences (i.e., medical, legal, etc.). Missionary assignments available for single women ages 40+ have been expanded to include select assignments within family history, visitor centers, historic sites, area and mission offices, and employment centers.
Layton YSA Stake Institute program- This is for every YSA between the ages of 18-25, held Tuesday evenings, 7:00-8:00 PM, followed by a full dinner. See the flyer below.
