CLASS RULE: If what you are doing interferes with learning, hurts someone's heart, prevents you from being your best self, you shouldn't be doing it.
The students will:
complete classwork and homework when it is given.
keep their hands, feet, and objects to themselves.
stay on task.
actively participate.
respect others.
act appropriately in the hall, cafeteria, in the bathroom, etc.
raise hand before they want to speak.
listen to the speaker without talking.
pay attention and follow directions the first time they are given.
tell the truth at all times.
work to the best of their ability at all times.
The teacher will:
teach so that understanding takes place.
provide a safe, structured, fun learning environment.
respect others.
guide students when help is needed.
give feedback.
show students what they need to do in order to improve.
have high expectations for each child.
communicate with parents and teachers to help each child succeed.
Consequences for students may include:
Lost time from recess to write a letter explaining their actions and what they could have done differently, or to make up incomplete work.
Seat may be moved to a better spot for learning.
Completing work independently, instead of working with their group.
