Teacher Bio

Mrs. Stout grew up in the Lehigh Valley and attended LaSalle University in Philadelphia. She has a bachelor's degree in English and secondary education. After graduation, she moved several times and gained valuable teaching experience in other parts of the country and state. She taught for two years at Fountain-Fort Carson High School and Middle School in Colorado, one year at Norwalk High School in Iowa, and five years at Owen J. Roberts High School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.  After moving to NEPA, she took some time off to care for her small children, Rebecca and Jack. When her youngest was ready to enter kindergarten, she was ready to come back to teaching. She has a total of twenty-three years of teaching experience and is in her sixteenth year at DMS. She recently completed her master's degree in Online Learning and Instruction at Wilkes University. She holds a Pennsylvania Professional Certificate in English 7-12 and an Online Instruction Program Endorsement (PK-12). In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, yoga, and reading for pleasure. 

Mrs. Stout's Goal for Students

Mrs. Stout's ultimate goal for students is to help them become life-long learners who are able to meet the challenges of the "real world."
