Classroom Rules
and Expectations
Due to the nature of the programs that I teach, I generally utilize the Google classroom on FID days, emergency closures, extended absences due to illness, and in- class assignments. Students will be asked to join during the first week of intervention. At times, helpful resource will also be added.
Students rarely receive assignments for homework aside from getting an adult signature on bi-weekly Progress Monitoring and Unit tests. Signed papers should be returned the next day.
Expectations
Students are expected to bring a pencil and a book to class each day.
Students are expected to participate and follow the teacher in instructional activities such a tapping out words, echoing words and sounds, and finger writing in air or on desks.
Students will be asked to volunteer to spell and mark words on the Promethean board.
Students are expected to treat classroom materials with care and put them away at the end of each class period as directed.
Students are to be respectful of their peers and themselves, offering only words of encouragement.
Students are to be active listeners and wait to be recognized for their turn to share.
Students are expected to try their best each day.
Rules
Remain in seat and ready to learn.
Follow directions.
Respect others and their property.
I utilize a reward system in which students earn stamps to cash in for prizes. Stamps are rewarded for following directions, giving exceptional responses, returning signed papers, having required materials, being a positive role model, being polite and helpful to substitutes, and working well as a class.
