 Intro to Food

Students participate in a group Food Lab every Tuesday and Thursday. Responsibilities are equally shared, delegated and documented for points. Responsibilities change weekly.

Head Chef, Sous Chef, Dishwasher, Food Runner, Cleaner

"Take Food Tuesday": Students create their own cooking plan and are responsible for any ingredients/items not provided. (Responsibilities are to check the pantry on Monday prior to cooking and make a plan with the entire group)

"Theme Day Thursday": Students are given a food riddle. Once guessed, the group plans a recipe incorporating that item as a main ingredient in the dish. Head Chef writes up the recipe and submits it to me by mid-class time on Wednesday to be approved. All students must attempt to try the finished product for full group credit (all allergies should be addressed prior to cooking). 


Food Nutrition

"Weekly Cook-Off Competition":  Students are given a weekly Cooking Competition Theme. Head Chef plans the recipe, along with group input, and submits it to me by mid-class time on Wednesday to be approved. Finished products will be judged by volunteer teachers/staff to result in a winner and students will posess the  coveted Cook-Off trophy for the day.
