What is the best way to get in touch with Mrs. Baird?
Call the school office or email me!
What are the classroom rules?
1. Be Respectful
2. Be Responsible
3. Be Safe
Beginning on the first day of school, we discussed what it looks like to be respectful, be responsible, and be safe while at school. Students are expected to always follow these rules while in our classroom.
Positive reinforcement of good behavior, rather than punishment for negative behavior, is stressed.
How is my child graded?
Checklists will be available for you to view on CSIU giving you an in depth explanation of your child's areas of strength and need. The information on the checklist can be used at home to review the necessary curriculum skills.
What is your birthday policy?
Please do not send birthday cakes/food treats to school. Children may bring a small, non-edible treat (sticker, pencil, eraser) or a small treat bag (must have no food items). We have numerous food allergies, so we appreciate your cooperation with this classroom policy.
Summer birthdays will be celebrated the last week of school.
If you would like to pass out invitations in school, everyone should be invited OR if your
child is a boy/girl, then all boys/girls should be invited. This is to encourage consideration of
others feelings and not leaving anyone out.
Can I come into school to help out?
The Library is always looking for volunteers!
Please keep in mind, a parent
MUST complete the Volunteer Training offered by DIS
and
MUST have their clearances
in order to help or volunteer with any school activity or field trip.
I encourage you to complete this training and obtain your clearances as soon as
possible at the onset of school.
What are the DIBELS?
Three times during the school year, each child in the school will be tested by the Reading Specialists with the DIBELS tests. These help us to best serve the needs of every child and to offer appropriate assistance or challenges. If we feel your child requires additional reading support, you will be contacted and additional support will be set up with the Reading Specialist and classroom teacher.
