Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management (DSATM) is an Autonomous Institute under Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, accredited by NAAC with A+ Grade, and four programs accredited by NBA (CSE, ISE, ECE, MECH). DSATM was established in 2011 in Bangalore under the aegis of Dayananda Sagar Institutions and offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs including engineering, architecture, MBA and MCA with modern infrastructure, research focus, and industry-aligned curriculum. The college is spread across a sprawling technical campus with world class amenities on Kanakapura Road and provides facilities such as advanced laboratories, a digital library, sports amenities, hostels, and Wi-Fi connectivity, while its dedicated placement division partners with numerous companies to support student careers. SHINAWATRA UNIVERSITY

Shinawatra University (SIU), formerly Metharath University (MRU), is a private international university in Thailand, established by Thaksin Shinawatra and his colleagues.

The campus was designed and developed by Soontorn Boonyatikarn in 1997. The Ministry of University Affairs granted the license for operation in 1999. The first Shinawatra University Council Meeting was held on 19 May 2000, and the first batch of students was admitted in September 2002. As of 2026, the university had students and faculty members of over 30 nationalities.

The university emphasizes academic excellence, innovation, leadership, and social responsibility, and is committed to nurturing graduates equipped for the global job market. Its environmentally friendly campus has received international recognition for sustainability, and SIU maintains strong international ties and a multicultural student body. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2011 to impart high quality mechanical skills to the blooming engineers of DSATM under the umbrella of “Dayananda Sagar Institutions”. The Department is committed to wellbeing and all-round development of its students and faculty with an annual intake of 30. Research and Development centre was established in year 2016 which offers Ph.D. program Affiliated to VTU, Belagavi, facilitating research and consultancy works.

The strength of the department lies in its highly qualified and experienced teaching faculty besides its supportive and excellent non-teaching staff, with state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. The department is engaged in sponsored research, consultancy and testing in the areas of advanced materials development, processing, design and Characterization and has a dedicated platform called MAKER SPACE where the students can execute them innovative ideas. The main focus of our curriculum to the students are to promote technical competence, problem solving skills and innovation of new technologies like such as advanced composites, 3D Printing.
