What is the Selection Procedure for the TAs?
We employ teaching assistants to support our foundational, degree, and diploma-level courses, under the supervision of their respective course instructors. At least one teaching assistant is assigned to each subject, and to qualify for this role, students must meet specific criteria, including a minimum CGPA of 8 and a grade of A or S in the subject for which they are applying.
First, we circulate forms for interested students to apply for the teaching assistant position. Once we receive the forms, we schedule interviews with each applicant. The interviews are conducted by the respective course instructors to assess the applicants' qualifications and suitability for the role. Based on the applicants' performance in the interview, we select the most qualified candidates for the teaching assistantship position.
Why is TAship provided?
Teaching assistantships are offered to identify students' talents in their respective subjects and provide them with an opportunity to develop their passion and interest in the field. Through their work, teaching assistants gain valuable experience in teaching, communication, and leadership, which can be useful in their future careers. Additionally, the TAship program allows instructors to delegate some of their responsibilities, such as grading assignments and holding review sessions, so they can focus on providing high-quality instruction to their students. This collaborative approach benefits everyone involved and helps create a more supportive and engaging learning environment.
