2026-27 Update
“Why in the world would I want to read in the summer?”
📚 Keep your brain active — reading helps you stay sharp between school years.
📈 Maintain your skills — regular reading prevents the “summer slide.”
🎯 Be ready for the year ahead — these texts give you a strong starting point in the fall.
👨👩👧👦 Make it a family thing — read together or talk about what you’re reading.
🏛️ Use your local library — many libraries offer summer reading contests, book clubs, and events.
Summer reading is part of our program because it builds continuity—so when school starts, you’re not starting from scratch.
💻 Google Classroom
Summer reading assignments will be submitted through your grade-level Google Classroom.
🔑 Access Information
Classroom codes and instructions were shared before the end of the last school year (if you missed it they are listed on the grade level website.)
🗓️ Due Date
Assignments are typically due during the first week of school.
📤 Alternate Submission (if needed)
If you are unable to access Google Classroom, you may share your work directly with your teacher.
You may also submit on paper (see printable option on each grade level page).
🏛️ Local Libraries
Check your local library for copies of the required book. Many libraries also offer summer reading contests, book clubs, and events.
