Who We Serve
We currently serve adults with developmental disabilities. We plan to expand services to adults with developmental and physical disabilities and eventually open possibilities to anyone interested in our programming including caretakers, families, and community members.
Community-Based Day Services
Members and staff engaging in social environments, time outside, preferred activities, and development of skills for independence and meaningful community connection.
Purpose
Develop communication skills through routines and introduction to supportive technology
Engage with community members and resources
Connect joyful activities with skill-building for personal independence
Create a community with Driftless Recreation Co staff, community members, participants, and area resource professionals
Interact in a meaningful way with the community and explore environments for potential future employment
What do we mean by "Meaningful" ?
When we say "Meaningful", we mean our program offers purpose and value to those we serve and the community we are part of. If we miss something when it's not there, something routine and significant, it has meaning to us. Community-Based Day Services chooses activities based on individual's interest and assessed skill-building to design programming. We find and enjoy restaurants, libraries, outdoor spaces, non-profit volunteering, and other community resources that we look forward to returning to and that miss our impact when we're gone. Meaningful community engagement that goes both ways.
