What is Anchor Text?

An Anchor Text is a text selected to teach a series of key learning objectives that are essential to the content area standards and provide opportunity for cross-curricular engagement.

An anchor text is encapsulated in a text set; a series of text and multimedia resources that wrap around the key learning objectives to support the essential understandings of the text.

The purpose of the text set is to provide rich, robust and differentiated materials that meet the diverse learning needs of students in a diverse manner. The desired outcome of every text set is that all students can access the content in the anchor text and demonstrate successful understanding of the key learning objectives
