The creation of my business started with learning to use different tools. I learned how to use a laser cutter to make my coasters and earrings, i learned how to use the 3D printer to make the keychains and ball markers, and I learned how to sublimate print to make the mousepads. With the creation of my business, I wanted to spread positivity, hence the positive quotes engraved in the coasters. I wanted to create a safe space for my customers, and give them ways to think about positivity even in the midst of hardship.
These are my spreadsheets to calculate unit cost. Unit cost is the combined cost of the production of the product, and that includes cost of labor which is how long you worked on it. Unit cost is often factored in to the retail price of the product so profit is made.
This is a picture of me with all my products. 3 of my coasters sold, as well as 1 mousepad and 2 keychains. Additionally, 2 custom keychains were requested. I wish my soap would've sold because I worked really hard on it, but I was happy I sold a mousepad because I did not expect to. If I had another market, I would make more soap bars with more variety of flavors and better molds.
