Narrative Essay

Sometimes things happen in our lives that we have no control over. 2020 began with a worldwide impact of a pandemic called COVID-19. It changed the lives of myself, my family and friends. We became very scared because we didn’t know what could happen to us. COVID impacted myself and my family, and how it has changed my life by (add specific details about how it changed your life).

To begin with, the most impactful for me was my school life. School was hard for me because I was online on a zoom and sometimes the Wi-Fi didn’t work or the teacher's school zoom wouldn’t work all the time. My learning was not as great because I am a visual learner and hands on so this was difficult for me because being in school in the building was better for me. It was difficult for me to understand what they were talking about because of the poor connection on the zoom. Overall my grades dropped.

In addition to people's  schooling being affected, people are dying all around the world from COVID. There were so many deaths in America and other parts of the world. This made me feel scared for myself and people all over the world. I feared death so I really did not want to go outside my home. Seeing information about COVID every time I look at my phone, reading how another life has been taken away by COVID makes me feel like my life could be next. This was really a scary time in my life hearing people dying from COVID everyday.

Another event that happened in my life during COVID was that  I saw how my mother's job was impacted. She did home care that impacted her from going to work everyday like she was supposed to. I think my mom was worried because she didn’t know if she would have to stop working. That would mean not as much money would be coming in. I was sad seeing people struggling trying to find another job to try to pay their rent.

My experience with Covid really shows that sometimes things happen in our lives that we have no control over. However this can make our lives better or sometimes worse. Covid made my life worse It was harder to get food from places and get money to live the life I was used to. My experience of Covid taught me to be thankful for what you have because some people were without food before Covid started and that made it harder for them to feed themselves and their families. I have very strong family values and this Covid experience made me feel even stronger in making sure people’s basic needs are taken care of
