This year I am taking Spanish, World Literature, AP World Histiory, Chemistry, Viisual Art, Band, Rec Games, and Geometry. Schooling is a lot different and a lot harder this year because of Covid. The coronavirus has prohibited us from physically being in the building and this is harder because we cannot see our teachers and we hav to do school from home.
This project was a combination of all our core subjects (STEAM). We created a storyboard to layout what we wanted our storyline to be and then we created an animation of the story to show to elementary students. We also created a written version of the story. My storyboard is the story outline of one of the chracters in the epic but she is not the main character.
For our textile project, we had to research differnt textiles like weaving, crochet, macrame, etc. I chose to do a mixture of braiding and weaving to make a basket. I braided sven long strips of three strand braids and put those togther by weaving smaller strips of the recycled maeterial I use into them. (The material was an old pair of jeans I had.) I then secured the end of the braids to one another and started to cut out a bottom for the basket. To secure the bottom, I poked hole all around the piece of cloth and proceeded to use small strips of the jeans to go through the holes and tied those to the bottom braid of the basket. I used the top part of the jeans, where the belt loops lie, and created a handle and the final step was to decorate so I used the differnt patches from the jeans to put on the handle and the front.
This project combined our chemistry and art class together. We were assigned a group and then assigned either an appetizer, the main course, or dessert.
