MaKayla Leslie
🤍 Hello, I’m MaKayla.
Growing up as the youngest of two sisters and a brother, and attending Drew since Pre-K, has deeply rooted me in family, community, and personal growth. I am naturally driven by positive energy, dynamic movement, and genuine human connection.
Dancing and cheerleading have long been central to my life—not only as outlets for self-expression, but as the spaces where I built my confidence and learned the value of uplifting others. Navigating a big family taught me how to stand out and find my voice, and I bring that same encouraging spirit to every team and room I enter, striving to ensure everyone feels confident and included.
My worldview has been further shaped by my travels across Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, New Mexico, and more. Immersing myself in diverse cultures taught me to navigate the world with curiosity, cultural appreciation, and an open mind. That vibrant, expressive outlook carries into everything I do, including my personal style—I love bold colors, intentional detail, and anything that radiates joy.
With strong enthusiasm comes the practice of self-awareness. I actively work on channeling my energy in ways that respect and elevate the people around me. While I bring warmth and optimism to every environment, I am equally grounded and disciplined. When it comes to my academics and long-term goals, I stay laser-focused, accountable, and dedicated to excellence.
Ultimately, I am committed to continuous growth, remaining true to my roots, and serving as a positive, steady light wherever I go. 🤍
After high school, I wanted to attend an HBCU like North Carolina A & T, Southern University, ECTS for a nursing major
