In modernist art, people started a movement that arose in 1870 in Europe, called Impressionism, which first introduced abstraction in paintings. Art, for the first time, did not represent fully recognizable images. Other cultures such as Africans or native Americans used abstract to symbolize spiritual beliefs or connections to nature Abstract art is very closely related to science and math all three involve patterns and structures and also connect to symmetry. Science is related because the mixing of the different colors is a chemical mixture. You can use data from other artworks to use the patterns and techniques from your art. I like to work more personally to express myself more and it's easier to get ideas from myself instead of copying.  

Mandala used as a map representing deities, or especially in the case of Shinto, paradises, kami or actual shrines. A mandala generally represents the spiritual journey, starting from outside to the inner core, through layers. 

This year in Chemvas we  learned about the 5 perspective points of art and how it can apply to our other classes. Our last project we did that related to the 5 perspective points of art was the mandala, the mandala include chemistry,geomentry and world history. Famous art we learned about this year was the mandala, A mandala is a geometric configuration of symbols. In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed to focus the attention of practitioners and adepts, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space and as an aid to meditation and trance induction.
