What does it mean to volunteer? Why would Drew require you to volunteer for 50 hours during your high school career?

Volunteer to me mean help the community by doing a service without pay. The reason why Drew make us do at least 50 hours of community work is to prepare us for college, to help us be more educated in different areas that we volunteer in. It also shows you and help you have a better understanding of the community.
