Jordyn Dixon - Deliverable #3: Video Game Stages

Video Game Design Project

In geometry, I applied transformations by designing a video game with 3 levels. After designing my video game, I turned the video game into an animation. The goal of my game was for the cloud to get the rainbows. In order to complete my game, translations, rotations, reflections, and dilations had to be used. It was important throughout the process that we remembered the differences for each transformation. The different transformations are dilations, rotations, translations, and reflections. The transformations I used were "FD(3), RO(270 ccw), FD(8)" FD means to go forward, RO is rotation. Translations slide left to right and up and down and dilations

Stain Glass Project

In World History I learned about religion and the history of stained glass. Stained glass is colored glass that is used to build ornamental windows and other light-passing items. Stained glass, a purely Western phenomenon, began as a great art of the Christian church in the 12th–13th centuries when it was mixed with Gothic architecture to produce bright, moving effects. In Geometry, I learned about the properties of parallelograms and used the properties to design a piece of stained glass. The inspiration for my stained glass was a sun and its rays like shining down in the sky. The shapes I included in my design were circles, triangles, rectangles, and squares. I made sure that my parallelograms abided by the properties of parallelograms which are Opposite sides are parallel.

Opposite sides are congruent.

  • Opposite angles are congruent. ...

  • Same-Side interior angles (consecutive angles) are supplementary. ...

  • Each diagonal of a parallelogram separates it into two congruent triangles. ...

  • The diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other.
