In this essay we were tasked with analyzing the texts of Fredrick Douglass's autobiography "Learning To Read & Write", as well as Malcolm X's autobiography "Learning To Read". We were prompted to compare the two differentiating journeys of gaining an education, and identify to the extinct both figures claims of education were valid. To create a compelling argument it was vital for us to create a firm thesis on where both Frederick and Malcolm stood on the importance of education, and to cite evidence that could accurately back up this claim. Lastly we must give and commentary and overview on how this evidence accurately backs up our this reasoning.
