El Numero Uno
This piece is "El Numero Uno" composed by Jane Weidensaul. This video is of my class. I would say my favorite part of learning the piece would be finally understanding the timing and fingering of a specific section. That section leads to what I feel is the big bull fight the song reminds me of.
Jasmyn Braziel is a bright, silly, and fun-spirited senior student at Charles R. Drew Charter School, she has attended Drew since she was in kindergarten and began playing the harp in the sixth grade. Before playing the harp she dabbled in guitar, piano, and she played the violin for three years. A funny story she likes to tell is about how in sixth grade she was unable to continue playing the violin due to her schedule so she went with the harp as a last resort and she’s been playing for seven years now and she wouldn’t change a thing. She is now a part of the Urban Youth harp ensemble; a premiere southeastern harp ensemble and the only one in the southeast. She has been privileged to participate in playing for the PGA tour breakfast and has had the opportunity to play for a couple of gala's, one being very high profile. Jasmyn was also nominated for the governor’s honor society summer program. She plans on continuing to further her musical knowledge and become a better overall harpist at university.
