Recycled texttiles project. I made a bag out of plastic bags. The plarn represents covalent bonds and it benefits the environment because it repurposes plastic. I used all of the principles of design but mostly research. I had to learn how to make plarn before starting. I started by making plarn and then I braid it to make a long string. I then glued it together to make a long strip. I glued it on itself to make a pocket. I then finger knitted a strap and attached it. It was difficult to make all of the plarn and I didnt like all of the braiding. I think I could make it neater next time and would make it bigger. I learned how to recycle materials.
Epic elements final video
We used our knowledge of molecules as well as principals of design to make molecule art. I choose the molecule ammonia. Excess amounts of ammonia from the air can cause brain fog. I used the tools in photopea to make the fog. I added ammonia molecules to the fog. I used depth, space, and scale to make it look like the molecules were surrounding the brain. I first made a design of a molecule on tinkercad and then incorporated it into my art. The use of digital tools can be used in jobs like marketing, design and engineers.
ReARTations enrty event
By the end of this project I hope to have a better understanding of ceramics and chemical reactions. I hope to make a good quality ceramic piece that incorporates some of the skills we learn. Chemical reactions can be depicted in art in many ways. You can use different shading techniques and drawing techniques to show the physical changes in an element. You can make art based of chemical reactions to the naked eye or chemical reactions on a molecular level of the reaction. I look forward to combining my knowledge of chemical reactions and art techniques!
ReARTions research
ReARTions was a project that combined art and chemistry. We had to make a piece of art that was or showed a chemical reaction. I choose to paint fire. My chemical reactions were combustion and acrylic paint drying. This project showed us how art and chemistry specifically chemical changes are intertwined.
Our PBL Guernica
We painted a cubist style painting based on the guernica. We painted based on the question ¨what could cause another world war? ¨ We painted about social justice issues important to us such as over fishing, nuclear war, abortion rights, and vaccine mandates.
