Audio Elements
In chemistry, I learned that a neutral atom's atomic number is equal to the amount of protons they have and the protons equal to the amount of electrons. I also learned the amount of neutrons equal mass number minus atomic number. In visual arts, I have learned the definition of value when using dark and light shading. We also learned how to create a stop motion to apply to the video we had to create for 4th graders. Personally, I enjoyed this process of this video project. I had a really great group of classmates to help me with this video.
In the second quarter of Chemvas we have been learning the relationship between bonding, fabrics, and textiles. We have learned how to knit, weave, and knot fabric. examples are located below of the work I have done
Another thing we did this semester was made African Wax prints. I first started off by making a draft to put on the fabric. It had to include a parallelogram, which we learned in Geometry, in my design. Then we put our design on the fabric with school glue. After I let the glue dry, I painted it with fabric dye. Lastly, I rinsed it in water and peeled of the glue. to the right is my final result. I know it is hard to see the design, but its there:) It is related to Math because we used parallelograms. Science is involved because covalent bonds occurred when dying. And History plays a part because we used Colombian exchange African prints as a resource to create our pattern. I found it interesting to create my own design from what I already saw when doing research.
World History
Fun day in World History class!!! To get a glimpses of how ancient civilizations lived, our class tried many cultural things they did to survive. We created shelter out of bamboo, built cups and bowls out of clay to see if it held water, and we made mud with our hands and feet for harvest. This project really opened my eyes to how life was much different in ancient civilizations.
Geometry
In Geometry, we have a project which is to build a ramp to help disable people get to and from the door. My group has decided to go with lowes as our sponcer. The width of the ramp will be 45 inches and the length will be 15 inches. Stay tuned for more information.
World Literature
In World Literature, we were assigned to create a motivational presentation on a topic we are passionate about. The topic I choose was being and introvert. I am passionate about this topic because I am an introvert myself. Many people believe that introverts have nothing to offer in this world but they are sadly mistaken. We are the most creative, knowledgeable, understanding, and observant human beings. With out us, the world would just be a mess.
