The focus of my film was the change that I had undergone in my ninth grade year of school. This change impacted my life in a way that I will never forget. I decided to share this story because I believe that my story could help people who were dealing with the same problem. I hope that my film can not only show how much my life changed but can also help other people change theirs.
The scripting part was definitely the hardest part for me. It’s difficult for me to plan a lot ahead. I’m definitely more of an “in the moment” kind of guy. The cross-curricular element I included was a reference to biology. I made a contrast between an animal’s drive to survive compared to my lack of will. “I love a lot about life. So I spend my time thinking about what I love. Because that's what matters. That's the meaning of life. To live for the things that you care for.” This the best part of my script in my opinion. It does a good job driving home the message I want to share.
The process of filming was fairly simple. Getting the motivation to do the storyboard was difficult, but after that it was easy. Filming was pretty easy. The entire film, except for one part, was shot entirely in my room. The most difficult thing was finding a place to prop my phone, and determining how long to film for when I was using time-lapse. The editing process was simple. I put background tracks and voiced over some clips. The film came out of quality.
Overall, I think I did pretty well. I definitely could have done better, but during online school, motivation has been at an all-time low. As for my vision, I think I was able to get across everything that I wanted too. I believe that people will be able to learn from my video and make some changes to how they view things. I did not enjoy the process very much because as I said, I have very low motivation right now. I learned about different techniques you can do to make different shots.
