What is my child's email address?

Every child will receive their own academy account, the Username is the email address your child will have been provided with.

Each child needs to login using this Email Address / Username and their Password at:

Email addresses are always your child's "username" followed by academy website address eg: TMA19JaKi@thomasmiddlecott.co.uk

My child has forgotten their Password

Every child will receive their own academy account, the Username is the email address your child will have been provided with.

Each child needs to login using this Email Address / Username and their Password at:

Your child can reset their password by going to www.password.dret.cloud

If they can't remember the questions to their security answers, they need to provide us with these details:

  • Name

  • Academy Name

  • Form Group

And submit a Request to Reset Password by Clicking Here.

My child is unable to login due to an error 404/permissions error

If you use a Personal Google Account on the devce you are trying to access DRET Online Learning, it is common for either a 404 or Permissions error to display when visiting www.secondary.dret.cloud or www.primary.dret.cloud

If you are logged into your device/browser with a personal Google account, it is important to ensure that your Childs DRET Academy Email Address / Account is logged in.

Your Child will need to go to www.google.com and sign in using their DRET Academy Email Address / Account or Sign Out of their Personal Google Account.

You can also use an alternative browser that is not logged into a personal google account to avoid this issue.

My child does not have a login for Hegarty Maths, Pearson Active Learn, Music First or subject specific website/software

Unfortunately our team are unable to issue login details for these applications, Please ask your child to login to their "Outlook" emails via the link on secondary.dret.cloud/primary.dret.cloud and email their teacher for further support.

How can I download a copy of Microsoft Office 365?

Good News! all students at DRET academies can download Microsoft Office 365 completely free with their academy account.

  1. Visit www.software.dret.cloud

  2. Login with academy email and password

  3. Download the version appropriate for your device

Google Classroom

How do I use Google Classroom?

For more information on how to use Google Classroom please visit the official Google Classroom Help Center. There are also plenty of tutorial videos on YouTube you can watch with your child. https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/

My child is unable to see any classes in Google Classroom

Firstly please ensure you are logged into Google/Google Classroom with your child's academy account. If you are not logged in with a school account then no google class's will show. Please see the "I can't login due to a 404 permissions error" guide for visual guidance on how to sign out/switch Google accounts.

My child needs a "PIN" or invitation to join a Google Class

Only teachers are able to invite students to a class or provide the invitation code. Please ask your child to login to "Outlook" emails using the shortcut on secondary.dret.cloud or primary.dret.cloud then send an email to their teacher to request an invite to their class.

My child's "PIN" for Google Classroom is invalid

Please ensure you are logged into Google Classroom using your child's academy account, If the PIN code still fails please verify with the teacher that is correct. The teacher will also have the option to invite students using their academy email which will send an invite to their school email inbox.

Student Portal & MCAS

My Child has forgotten their Student Portal login details or password

If a student has forgotten their Student Portal login information we recommend using the "Forgotten Details" link to receive an email to recover their account and set up a new password. To do this please follow these steps


  1. Go to https://www.bromcomvle.com

  2. Click "Forgotten Details"

  3. Use the school code that your school originally provided, and the school email address

  4. Your child needs to login using their academy email by visiting www.dret.email (use school email and computer/account password)

  5. Follow instructions on the recovery emails

How can I request support?

If you require technical support or your issue is not covered by our remote learning guides you can reach out to our IT Team.

To enable us to respond without delay please ensure you include the following information on your message.

  • The full name of your child

  • Which academy your child attends

  • Detailed description of your issue and any error messages you see (screenshots/photographs are ideal)

  • Please aim to contact us using an email we have on our records for you

  • Make sure that the email you add to the help form is one that can receive a reply
