Dragon PTA Board

I am honored to serve as President of the PTA for the 2026–2027 school year, and I am truly grateful for the trust you have placed in me. This is my first year serving on the PTA Board, and I am excited for the opportunity to get more involved and give back to a school and community that means so much to our family.

I am the proud mom of two boys, one in second grade and one in fourth grade. We all love New Castle and feel very fortunate to be part of this wonderful school community. I believe strongly in the importance of education, but I also know how important it is for children to have opportunities to build friendships, socialize, feel connected, and simply enjoy being kids. I am happy to volunteer my time, lend a helping hand, and do whatever I can to support our students, teachers, families, and school.

When I am not busy with PTA activities or keeping up with my boys, I enjoy staying active. I love going to the gym, running, and participating in a variety of fitness and workout activities. Most importantly, though, my favorite way to spend my free time is with my two precious boys. They keep me busy, laughing, and always on the go!

I look forward to a great school year and am excited to work alongside our PTA, teachers, staff, and families to make 2026–2027 a wonderful year for our New Castle students!

I’m honored to serve as your VP of Membership as this is my third year being a board member! I’m incredibly excited to help continue to make New Castle one of the best schools in Virginia Beach for our children and their families. When my family joined New Castle just two years ago, I was a new kindergarten parent who had no idea how special this school truly is. As I shared all the amazing events, traditions, and programs happening here, I quickly realized how lucky we are—and I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Joining the PTA gave me a chance to give back, support our teachers and staff, and help create joyful experiences for our students. When I’m not volunteering or organizing events, you’ll likely find me at the sports fields or spending time with my favorite little fisherman—exploring ponds, creeks, and Stumpy Lake in search of the next “monster catch.” I look forward to meeting more New Castle families and working together to support our incredible school. Let’s make this year one to remember!

Volunteering in my community has always been a passion of mine. When my daughter became a dragon I knew I wanted to get involved. My daughter will be in 5th grade and has loved every aspect of New Castle. This will be my third year as treasurer and being involved with the PTA. I look forward to the opportunity to help the school raise funds and provide the kids with fun and exciting events throughout the year. As a parent I've always enjoyed how excited my daughter gets about school activities and I can't wait to be a part of this amazing team that makes this possible. In my spare time you will find me with my family, traveling with family and friends and doing anything I can to be outside. 

My name is Brittany Pirtle and I am the proud wife and parent of a 5th grader and 2nd grade dragon. This is my first year with the New Castle PTA. Since my daughters became dragons, I have been amazed by the incredible impact the PTA makes at NCES. I am excited to have the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful team. As secretary, you can count on me to facilitate smooth communication with clear and accurate notes during meetings. 

In my spare time, you will find me spending with with my family, reading and support my children in their various extracurricular endeavors. 

Hi, I'm Jen and this is my second year with the PTA. I'm a wife and mom of 4 kids; a 5th grader, 3rd grader, 2nd grader,  and preschooler. I always knew I wanted to be involved when the kids started school and volunteer to go on field trips and school activities. I started volunteering and then got involved with the PTA the latter part of the 2024-2025 school year with helping out with social media. I'm excited to be a part of the board and can't wait for all the fun things to come this 2026-2027 school year!

Outside of work and the PTA, I love being able to spend tim with family and friends and watching our kids play their sports!
