Welcome! I'm glad you're here. My name is David Wichman, and I am an author, speaker, and certified recovery coach.
In the beginning of my recovery journey, I engaged in the 12-step program and still attend a variety of meetings. I appreciate the recovery process from a broad perspective. I also recognize there are multiple paths to freedom from addiction. My preferred approach to recovery right now leans heavily toward any program that emphasizes the importance of eliminating the shame, stigma and dogma we witness in many spaces where new people come seeking sobriety.
I believe in meeting people from where they are today not where I hope they will be in the future. That said I also love helping identify and map out a trajectory that brings about a sense of purpose. Earning my coaching certification has deepened my understanding and enhanced my ability to foster meaningful relationships with those I work with.
I am the proud author of the award-winning book "Every Grain of Sand," where I detail my personal journey to healing and moving beyond the belief in my brokenness. My hope is by me leveraging my perspective and insights, I can assist those struggling with substance use in reclaiming their power and authenticity. I love writing and creating and I am incredibly passionate about creating change in the world. I look forward to joining you on your journey.

Bring shame into the light as an empowering tool towards freedom, without having to re-open the wound over and over again.
Learn to witness the parts of yourself that you may have exiled, shut down, or stuffed away.
Overcome obstacles or challenges that have been holding you back and blocking you from truly being who you are.
Explore living beyond the beliefs and ideas that keep reminding us of not-enoughness and return to a sense of well-being.
Have valuable tools to trace the root causes beneath the behaviors and obstacles that keep you stuck.
Unlearn core false beliefs and ideas passed down to you about yourself, and your desires.
Integrate and witness all of our emotions and learn to navigate our judgements beyond the ideas of good, bad, right and wrong.
This is the work I love to do. Much of what I share in my practice comes from my personal experiences and many years of working with men in and out of recovery. I also draw inspiration from the groundbreaking book, "Conscious Recovery"™ by TJ Woodword. He has written and facilitated empowering workshops on sex love and intimacy with astounding results. David welcomes everyone to his judgement free coaching and mentoring practice.
David is active in the LGBTQIA+ recovery community with more than 18 years of sobriety. Inspired by the book "Conscious Recovery"™ by TJ Woodward, David discovered a new perspective on recovery and integrates many of the ideas into his practice. He completed the Conscious Recovery coaching certification in 2022.
In his award winning book, "Every Grain of Sand," David shares his journey of finding his whole and essential self, in part through the Conscious Recovery Method™. He brings a unique perspective and understanding to the people he works with to reclaim their power and authenticity.
